Children's Book Review: Beyond the Pond by Joseph Kuefler

Title: Beyond the Pond
Author: Joseph Kuefler
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Publication Date: October 6, 2015

Synopsis:
Just behind an ordinary house filled with too little fun, Ernest D. decides that today will be the day that he explores the depths of his pond.

Beyond the pond, he discovers a not-so-ordinary world that will change him forever.

My Thoughts:
What an exceptional story!

Ernest D. decides to explore the pond behind his house one day. He gathers up some supplies and dives in, his faithful dog beside him. The pond seems endless as he swims deeper and deeper into it's depths, past frogs, sharks, and sunken ships. And then he comes across a source of light and comes out of a completely different pond into an exceptional new world!

This book immediately went on my to-buy list as soon as we finished it. I love the mystery, the wonder, the adventure... and the illustrations are beautiful and full of depth and color. I think this will be a favorite for years to come.
